The Great London Fire of 1666

This is the kind of thing us 17th-century English historians care about.

From a tweet of the New York Public Library:

The Great Fire of London started on September 2, 1666, at the bakeshop of Thomas Farynor on Pudding Lane.

If you’d like to know more about this, the NYPL points you to one of their documents (an electronic resource) from 1760.

I love seeing 17th-century history on Twitter.
