I apologize for any repeats but it’s hard to keep all of this straight. And I especially apologize for any stories that are not included (it’s not intentional – I’m just one woman, googling).
San Diego, CA: Moviegoers at a San Diego theater ducked for cover as officers stormed in during a film screening and shot and critically wounded a gunman hiding in their midst. No one else was hurt in the shooting Saturday. The gunman, identified as 20-year-old Tom Billodeaux of Escondido, was taken to a hospital after being shot in the arm and chest, police said.
Plainfield, NJ: At 4:40 a.m. Saturday, Jose Rodriguez, 18, of North Plainfield, was arrested for the shooting of the 5 year old boy, which occurred on Thursdayy afternoon at Plainfield Avenue and South Second Street in Plainfield, while the child was taking an after-school walk with his mother. Authorities have said that the child was the victim of a stray bullet, which entered his mouth and lodged in his throat.
Tuscaloosa, AL: A 17-year-old girl was killed late Saturday night in a shooting that injured two others, and a Tuscaloosa teen in police custody faces charges in that case and another shooting over the weekend. Angelica Mona Golston, 17, was killed and a 22-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman had non-life threatening injuries in the shooting at Creekwood Village Apartments next to Stillman College.
Spokane, WA: Police in Spokane, Wash., have arrested two people in connection with a shooting in North Spokane that wounded two men. The shooting took place around 4 a.m. Saturday. Two men who were wounded were taken to the hospital, where they were listed in critical condition. Police say they’re expected to survive.
Chicago: Two gunmen shot a 14-year-old boy several times Friday night as he stood on his porch, leaving him to die in the front hallway of his Humboldt Park home, authorities said. The shooting came just hours after a 15-year-old boy was fatally shot in a separate attack in the Little Village neighborhood. Including both homicides, at least six teens were shot since Friday afternoon, according to police.
Chicago: Published Sunday night: Three people have been killed and six others wounded in Chicago gun violence since Friday afternoon, authorities said. Many of the shooting victims, including two of the people killed, are teenagers.
Savannah, GA: A 3-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound was taken to Memorial University Medical Center on Sunday afternoon. At about 12:45 p.m., said Savannah-Chatham police spokesman Julian Miller, the child picked up his father’s gun at a Montgomery Landing apartment, and the gun fired.
Philadelphia: Police Investigate 3 Separate Overnight Shootings In Philadelphia (from Saturday to Sunday)
Oakland, CA: After four people were shot and killed Friday in a period of six hours, Oakland police found responded to reports of a triple shooting on Saturday afternoon. Two men and one woman suffered from nonfatal gunshot wounds. The three victims were transported to the hospital where they are in stable condition, police said Saturday night.
New Orleans: One man was injured in a shooting Sunday afternoon in Mid-City. The unidentified victim is in stable condition.
Newark, NJ: A 15-year-old boy was killed and a 17-year-old male he was with was injured in a shooting Saturday evening in the Rev. William D Watley Plaza housing complex
Hollywood, CA: A 19-year-old man has died and a second person was grazed by a bullet following a shooting outside a Hollywood nightclub.
Baltimore, MD: Uhm… Baltimore police say an officer fired his weapon while trying to disperse a crowd, striking two people.
Apopka, FL: Orange County homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot to death just before midnight on Saturday in South Apopka. Deputies responding to a shooting call found Ronnie Culver, 26, lying dead in the street at the intersection of 15th Street and Central Boulevard.
Dalton, GA: Dalton Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting at a house on Dozier Street Saturday afternoon. No one was hurt.
Greenville, SC: A 47-year-old man has been charged after the shooting death Sunday morning of another man in the parking lot of a White Horse Road nightclub.
San Francisco, CA: A shooting Saturday night hospitalized two people. Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1300 block of Alemany Blvd, near Silver Ave, at about 10:10 p.m., Sgt. Michael Andraychak said. When they arrived, they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds, Andraychak said.
St. Louis, MO: Police are investigating a shooting that took place at 19th and St. Charles early Sunday morning. Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a male and 20-year-old female were sitting in her parked car when a white Suburban pulled up next to them. The person in the Suburban rolled the window down, pointed a gun at the couple and proceeded to fire shots at them. The female was struck by a bullet in her inner thigh. She drove herself to the hospital to be treated. The male was uninjured.
Norwalk, CT: A man was shot in the leg on Fillow Street Sunday evening and took himself to Norwalk Hospital for treatment.
Miami: A husband and wife were ordering hot dogs at the stand in the 1900 block of NW 21st Street, when they were approached by two men. One of the men asked the woman for her purse, police said. That’s when her husband got into a fight with that man. The second suspect took out a gun and shot the woman’s husband in the leg. The two suspects got away with the purse in a beige vehicle.
Valdosta, GA: Valdosta Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a man dead. Around 4:15 am Sunday police responded to a shooting at the T&D Food Mart on North Troup Street. Officials say when they arrived they found Alfred Pierre Bradley Jr. dead with one gun shot wound.
Denver, CO: Police in Denver have arrested a man accused of shooting and killing a woman near 13th and Pearl Street. Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 1300 block of Pearl Street Friday night. Officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound and she died at the scene.
Jacksonville, FL: A deadly shooting at a Westside church on Saturday. Upon arrival first responders found Kerry Lamb, 26, deceased in the parking lot according to JSO.
Shreveport, LA: Just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers sent to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Hearne Avenue and Murray Street found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the lower body. The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to LSU Hospital in Shreveport by the Shreveport Fire Department, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Senath, MO: Senath police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the city on Sunday. Police Chief Omar Karnes said an officer involved shooting happened around 6 p.m. Chief Karnes said the officer is okay, but he is not releasing any more information at this time.
Portland, OR: Detectives are looking for answers after finding a person who was shot in the leg Saturday evening. The victim was not cooperating with police. The victim was found near the area of Northeast 92nd and Northeast Glisan Street after the report of the shooting came in a few blocks away on Northeast Oregon Street.
Breckenridge, MO: A 12-year-old northwest Missouri boy is dead after accidentally shooting himself inside a home on Friday night.
Jersey City, NJ: Titans receiver Kenny Britt dropped his brother off at a hospital in New Jersey with a stab wound on Saturday night, and police want to talk to Britt about that stabbing, and a gunshot that was heard in an altercation afterward.
Fredericksburg, VA: The 42-year-old man killed in a double shooting Friday in Fredericksburg has been identified as Tyrone Charles Thornton. Thornton died as the result of a shot to the head in his apartment just before 4 p.m. at the Fall Hill Apartments. A 24-year-old Woodford woman was shot in the chest during the same incident, police said. She remained hospitalized Saturday in serious condition.
Rutherford County, NC: Around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to Tisdale Street in Ellenboro, after receiving a call that a subject had driven by a residence and shot several times into the house.
Montcalm, WV: One man is dead after an officer involved shooting. A Mercer County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a shooting in the Mont Calm area around 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. Deputy Coulter says the call originated with a complaint of a man destroying a residence with a chainsaw. Shots were fired shorting after deputies arrived on scene.
Louisville, KY: Two people were shot early Saturday morning after a dispute erupted inside of the View, a Louisville after-hours nightclub.
Milwaukee: Officers from the 5th District responded about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday to a report of a person shooting a gun in the North Division school neighborhood and found the victim suffering from one gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital
Cedar Rapids, IA: Cedar Rapids Police are looking for two men in connection with an early morning shooting. It happened at about 12:45 a.m. on Sunday when officers heard gun shots fired in the Czech Village area.
Oakley, OH: About 1 a.m. Sunday morning, police were called to an apartment building on Alamo Avenue in Oakley for a report of a shooting. That is where police found 24-year-old Dante L. Cross who was transported to the hospital where he was later died.
Williamsport, PA: A man was shot Saturday night in Williamsport. Police say it happened just before 11:00 p.m. outside a home in the 600 block of Spruce Street. A man was wounded and taken to a hospital in a private vehicle. His name has not been released. Police report the injury is not life threatening.
Atlanta: [warning – link has graphic picture of man wounded in the face] A 20-year-old convicted felon has been charged with shooting a rookie police officer in the face. Frank Nance, from Atlanta, Georgia, allegedly shot Atlanta Police Department officer Reginald Robinson on Friday during a drug-related chase.
Indianapolis: The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting inside a bar on the city’s North side on Sunday. The incident occurred at the Pub Ale House, located in the College Park Shopping Center near 86th and Michigan.
Troy, NY: As police were looking for a stolen handgun involved with a suspect chase, they heard shots fired near State and Broadway, early Sunday morning.
Arcadia, CA: Arcadia police are investigating a Friday night shooting at a home in the 1300 block of Mayflower Avenue. The home’s 38-year-old resident reported hearing two or three loud bangs at approximately 10:50 p.m. No one was injured in the incident.
The Bronx: Police are searching for the suspect who shot a livery cab driver three times in a robbery attempt in the Bronx early Sunday morning.
Flint, MI: Police have identified 28-year-old Steven Edward Lawson as the man who wasshot and killed Saturday afternoon during a funeral service at a church on King Avenue.
Kanawha County, GA: A man is dead after opening fire on Kanawha County deputies Saturday evening. A call came in to Kanawha County Metro 911 from a Pinch-area resident who reported that her neighbor told her she was being beaten up by her 48-year-old son. Identified Sunday as Lawrence “Pete” Vaughn.
Huntsville, AL: Huntsville police responded to a gunshot victim at Huntsville hospital. They’re still investigating the events that landed him there. Authorities say the man had been robbed and shot in the area of Mt. Vernon Road on Sunday. He was then driven to the ER by a passerby.
Terrytown, LA: Authorities with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office were flagged down by Earl Alleman Jr. on Friday, who said he was being shot at by a man in a grey pickup truck.
San Francisco, CA: Police are investigating a shooting that left a male victim injured in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood early Saturday morning. Officers received a report of a shooting at the intersection of Wisconsin Street and Coral Road, on Potrero Hill’s southern slope, at 2:20 a.m.
Cumming, GA: A Cumming man is in critical condition after being shot several times in a Forsyth County mobile home park. Authorities responded to a call in the Twin Lakes Mobile Home Park near Georgia Highway 9 at approximately 12:30 Sunday morning. Shortly after their arrival, officers heard a woman screaming and, upon following the sound of the screams, discovered a 28-year-old white male with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground between two mobile homes.
Woods Cross, UT: Police are looking for three suspects in the Friday night shooting of a 25-year-old man in Woods Cross.
Baton Rouge, LA: The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office says their office is investigating a shooting death that occurred Sunday evening at the Jefferson Lakes Apartments in Baton Rouge.
Knoxville, TN: One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting at an apartment complex in East Knoxville. It happened Saturday evening at about 6:40 p.m. on the 12-hundred block of East New Street.
Sorrento, LA: Deputies have identified a man shot to death early Saturday on LV Road in Sorrento as a Baton Rouge resident, an Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman said. Deputies said the victim of the shooting whose identity was verified through fingerprints was Gerald Wilkins, 41, 1123 N. Sabine Drive, Baton Rouge.
Toledo, OH: Toledo police late Saturday investigated separate incidents in which one person was shot and another stabbed.
Henrico, VA: Henrico police are currently investigating a shooting where two people were shot early Saturday morning.
Lansing, MI: A Lansing man was hospitalized and another arrested after a shooting late Friday on the city’s south side.
Inkster, MI: Inkster police were just manning their police station when chaos broke out Friday night. Police tell 7 Action News a small group of people came into the lobby in a panic. Some of them were teens. They were yelling that someone was chasing them, and they wanted to file a complaint. It happened just before midnight. Just moments later shots came in through the windows.
Columbia, SC: Richland County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who shot two people in a River Drive adult entertainment nightclub early Saturday morning. It is the second shooting this week at Club Crush, which bills itself as a “gentlemen’s club.”
Cleveland, OH: A man was arrested for felonious assault after he called police and said he shot a male attempting to break into a home, but the other man gave a very different story. Police received the call around 2:44 a.m. on Saturday and were told the shooting happened in the 1100 block of East 143rd Street. According to the Cleveland Division of Police, when officers arrived at the shooter’s location, he had two handguns. He explained he was in his girlfriend’s driveway when her ex-boyfriend arrived, and because they’ve had altercations in the past, he ran into the house and locked the door. He claimed the other man attempted to enter the home through a front window. The arrested man then ran out of the home and claimed he was chased by the other man, which prompted the shooting.
Dyer County, TN: Dyer County Sheriff’s investigators are trying to piece together a shooting incident on Thursday where an Elbridge, Tenn. man shot up a house and a car on Earl Carter Road in Dyer County and then turned the gun on himself at a residence near Hornbeak, Tenn.
Cobb County, GA: Cobb County police responded to a call of gunshots. When they arrived, they found the body of a 30-year-old man inside his residence at Sedgefield Apartments.
Wilson, NC: Police are investigating a Friday night shooting death at a Wilson home. Officers arrived at 1108 Churchill Ave. around 8 p.m. to find one person dead and another injured.
Peoria, IL: Police officers responded to a fight that escalated to gunplay early Sunday morning. Victims made a 911 call just shortly after 4 a.m. reporting a fight and single gunshot victim, according to a Bradley Police Department release.
Newton, IL: A gunshot victim died at the intersection of Maple and Washington streets in Newton late Saturday afternoon.
San Antonio, TX: The body of a man with an apparent gunshot wound was found early Saturday on the West Side, police said. The man was found in the 6200 block of Highway 151, near Pinn Road.
West St. Paul, MN: West St. Paul police were investigating a fatal shooting late Friday night. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound in a driveway in the 900 block of Ohio Street at about 8 p.m. Friday.
Danville, IL: A teenager walking on Lake Street near Main Street suffered a gunshot wound when he was confronted by two young men Thursday night. The 15-year-old eastside resident was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.
